Welcome to /r/AMD — the subreddit for all things AMD; come talk about Ryzen, Radeon, Zen4, RDNA3, EPYC, Threadripper, rumors, reviews, news and more. /r/AMD is community run and does not represent AMD in any capacity unless specified. After getting my new computer, I tested VR performance by myself, to see how it would run. I’m using an OG htc vive via displayport, and I’ve tried elite dangerous, assetto corsa, assetto corsa competizione and star wars : squadrons. All graphic settings maxed out, resolution 200% So far my experience has been flawless. No noticeable stutter, frametimes consistently under 6ms. My old gtx 1070 was screaming out its lungs at 100% resolution medium settings, for a barely playable experience. I know this headset is fairly low resolution by today’s standards and that these game are not the most demanding (even though assetto corsa competizione is pretty wild at max settings). So in which conditions do VR suck with this GPU? Is it because of the issues with stream compression for type-c cable users, or is it just the low resolution of my headset even though I run at 200%?
