VR in the 90s was wild.
A place to discuss any and all things Virtual Reality. I didn’t even know VR existed in the 90s but it did and it mainly came in the form of arcade machines. Not your typical arcade machine, this arcade machine was W industries’s Virtuality 1000 cs which was powered by a Commodore Omega. They also made a seated version for flight simulators and other games. I believe the first game W industries created was Dactyl nightmare, followed by other games like legend quest, exorex, buggy ball, grid warriors, and a few other games. Unfortunately W industries didn’t really last long because their audience was going back to home consoles that had better graphics. They did try to break into the home market through the Sega genesis, and Atari jaguar however those two attempts to create a home VR system were not successful due to issues with head tracking. Even Nintendo gave it a try with the virtual boy, but that was a massive flop. After the failure of the virtual boy, VR basically fell off completely.
